Subject: Harassment

Someone from a former publisher has sent me links to illicit ads on craigslist. Can anyone with the knowledge of law tell me if this is illegal for them to do? I mean these emails are very detailed, vulgar, and otherwise fowl ads that my kids could have seen had I not noticed them first. Plus from what I gather they sound illegal. Any lawyers interested can contact me on here.

With credit checks being a large reason of why management companies wont rent to people even in today's economy, people with money are still winding up homeless and adding to the statistics. Things have got to change.

@ Homeless Working Man- I know a few people who have gone through and that are still facing this issue. Police started profiling people for a reason and then profiling became a way of life for everyone else who believes in the system that if you have bad credit that makes you a bad driver or someone who does not pay bills and yo either have high car insurance rates or can't rent a home. Even some jobs wont hire you because they claim it makes you high risk to be a thief. This is a touchy subject for sure. Thanks for sharing.

If credit checks are a problem, work several jobs, pay all of your bills on time, and live within your means. That means saving at least 10% of your income every month for a "rainy day". If you haven't done this, then you have no one to blame but yourself. I'm a single, working mother and I've never not had a place to rent.

I think it also depends on the location. Some states have more restrictions than others. In either case good input. Keep it coming.

Subject: Child Safety Laws

I understand that there are abusive parents out there but Oregon has a law that states my daughter can get an abortion and the doctors don't have to inform me about it. That is a little undermining if you ask me and if she gets sick and dies because I did not know about it as her parent and guardian I am liable for her care. This is one of many laws I think should be thrown out.

Subject: Occupy Portland

I understand that something needs to be done about the big corporations and banks but what this group has been doing is more than just protesting. It is unorthodox activity bordering on corporate terrorism. As Americans we don't negotiate with terrorists.
